Resurrection Canon Tone Five Irmoi and Refrains

This is a setting of the irmoi of tone
five for use at a Saturday night vigil or Sunday matins. This setting
is for three men. The text of this setting departs from usual style
found on this web site, that is, it uses archaic English. It has been
done this way since this canon has been sung at St. Vladimir's seminary chapel
during the 2001-2003 school years. This setting is somewhat difficult
and departs from ordinary plain chant harmonization styles. This three-part
setting attempts to replicate an ancient Russian harmonization style.
