Unmercenary Sacred MusicGalician Chant |
Galician chant is the chant of Western Ukraine. In this country it is most often used in the Ukrainian-Greco Catholic Church (Eastern-Rite Catholic). It shares many melodies with the Carpatho-Rusyn tradition and uses some of the Kievan melodies.
In addition to the individual pieces and service books below, much more can be found in the online Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA Divine Liturgy pages. This is an ongoing work that was developed (and is constantly being developed) for Holy Trinity UOC in Goshen, IN and Holy Trinity UOC in Michigan City Indiana. These pages dynamically show the music and other propers for the day.
